5.0 When we decided to move from ****** to ********* in January we interviewed a number of moving companies and Trans Canada Movers stood out as responsive and professional with good references - they also had a good competitive price and walked us through the process which can be a bit complicated given the trans-border move. The move went very well - in spite of a major snowstorm -- everything arrived on time and in good shape at the ********* end with no major damage and we felt well looked after. Our patient guide, **** ******, addressed all our questions and concerns. What seemed to us a daunting task at first, gradually became better understood and more manageable. 1.0 I never leave reviews, but after paying nearly $8,000 for a “streamlined” cross-border move, I got poor coordination, zero communication, and a manager, who chewed me up and spoke to me condescendingly.

From the beginning, there were serious communication failures. On the day of my scheduled full pack move, the crew arrived stating they did not know it was a full pack job. I had been coordinating for over a month with Tammy about the details. When I reached out, her response was essentially that she had written it down and didn’t know what happened. No apology. No accountability. Just deflection.

The movers packed for about an hour and then disappeared for over 30 minutes without saying anything. Breaks are understandable. Failing to communicate when someone is paying thousands of dollars for a professional service is not. At one point during packing, one of the movers asked me if I had extra boxes in my recycling they could use. This was a full pack job that I was paying a premium for. I should not be sourcing packing materials from my own recycling bin to compensate for a lack of preparation. That question alone reinforced that the crew had not been properly briefed or equipped for the scope of the job.

The most exhausting part was the border coordination. I was told we would “meet at the border.” That was the entirety of the instruction. I drove two hours from Washington State, texting ETA updates, and was left on read. After arriving at the border, I received a call telling me the movers were still 2.5 to 3 hours away and that I would need to wait. There had been zero communication about timing or what the actual plan was.

When I called to get clarity, I spoke with someone who appeared to be the head manager. Instead of acknowledging the communication failures, he was dismissive and confrontational. He insinuated that I was “entitled” for expecting coordinated timing and told me that “most people have things to do after packing,” implying I was unreasonable for driving directly to the border as instructed. He repeatedly suggested it was my fault for not confirming every logistical detail, as though it is the customer’s responsibility to extract operational plans from a company being paid $8,000 to manage them.

I made it clear that I understood the job was physically demanding and that I fully expected the crew to take breaks. I repeatedly told him I had empathy for the crew, but that on one of the most stressful days of my move, I felt there was no empathy extended toward me. That empathy was not reciprocated. Instead, he doubled down, continued insisting it was my fault for not asking the “right” questions, and dismissed my frustration altogether.

I never demanded synchronized arrivals. I expected basic communication and a clear timeline. Being spoken to in a condescending tone and made to feel foolish for expecting that level of professionalism was unacceptable. At no point did the manager acknowledge the confusion about the full pack job. At no point did he apologize for the lack of coordination. Instead, he attempted to shift blame onto me and minimize legitimate frustration.

To make matters worse, the packing quality did not reflect premium service. Furniture arrived scuffed, and most items were loosely and randomly packed into boxes with little organization. It felt rushed and unprepared, which aligns with the fact that the crew did not even know the scope of the job upon arrival.

There were repeated microaggressions throughout the process, along with an overall level of unprofessionalism that made an already stressful move significantly worse. I hired this company specifically to reduce that stress. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed, belittled, and emotionally drained.

For the price paid, I expected competence, communication, and respect. I received none of the three. I seriously feel so cheated.

5.0 Recently used Trans Canada movers AGAIN, not many families emigrate 3 times but the Sims do, British Ex Pats. We used them and the lovely Tammy helped throughout the process. 3 years ago they moved us from Langley BC to Santa Clarita CA and made the whole process slick and effortless, on our part anyway.
Fast forward a few years and due to visa problems with the work relocation and our friend Trump we were forced to return.
This was a heartbreaking for my wife and I and our 3 children who had just built a home and pool and set a life up there.
Once reality had set in that we had to return I was straight on the phone to Tammy to do the return trip.
Over that period we acquired a lot more furniture/home goods and general clutter that we needed to bring back home to Canada but we still found them very reasonable.
Trans Canada Movers treated us like VIP returning customers and once again made the whole process seem simple, which it's not.
They were super competitive and the moving crews both in LA and BC were outstanding.
Tammy knew what an emotional time we were being dragged through and she was understanding and patient with our needs and stayed in touch throughout the process.
I'd like to personally thank Tammy and Trans Canada Movers and hopefully I won't have to move again BUT if I do I know who I'm calling.

Give that girl a raise.

5.0 The process to set up my move from Kitsap county (Washington) to Vancouver metro area was straightforward and fast, and everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Tammy was extremely knowledgeable and responsive while helping me set up a quote and with the paperwork before my move.

5.0 Good moving company with thoughtful teams at both ends. 3 bedroom house packed well and quickly, then a long storage time, then an inconvenient (lots of stairs) unpack. Their personnel were thoughtful to the end...including coming back to move a very large washer and dryer through a small door (had to take the door off the hinges - that tight). They didn't have to come back to do this part, but really appreciated their professionalism and taking the time to make it all right.

In addition, Jake, who was our administrative contact, provided excellent service - answering all questions as they came up, and quickly responsive.

They gave excellent advice to prepare us for crossing the border with our goods. The movers were on time, efficient and thorough. They wrapped our furniture so well that not one piece was scratched or damaged. They arrived on time at our new home and put everything where we asked, getting large furniture through small doorways without a single scratch on the walls and floor. They helped me with all of the customs documentation and made sure that all of my questions were answered, which definitely made a stressful situation a lot more manageable. The team on pickup did arrive about 30 minutes behind schedule, which is understandable given NY traffic - honestly I thought it would be way worse. I've heard a lot of scary stories but overall great experience, would highly recommend for anyone looking to do a move across borders!

1.0 When I was sold on using this company for an International move from Texas back to Alberta it would be smooth and easy move with lots of Communication and personal touch. This was far from what I experienced. From the start Jake the sales person was great and he explained things and gave me a broad date range of pack and move but as the time came closer I could not get a hold of my sales rep or get a time or date of pack or pick up. The sales rep seemed tone off or stick and had no one handling his business, this is mild concerning when you are dealing with an International Move. Whe it came to 4 days from predicted pick date i still had NO communication - this is not professional. Finally the Friday prior to the Monday pack and Move they let me know it will happen monday still with no time but someone will call during the weekend to let me know. Such poor customer service - I guess we should all just sit on hold for them. By Sunday Afternoon I still had not heard from ANYONE on monday plans - this is ridiculous. Monday I get a call they will be there 8:00 to pack and go - FANTASTIC. Well that did not happen - they were 1.5hours late and no call and communication that would be late. Well we go packed and off and though that was all good - until I unpacked and oh my gosh what a horrible pack job! I 2year old could have packed and wrapped just as well. But i will get to that..... As I sat and waited for my assets to arrive in Canada - I was told 1-3 weeks. So I said nothing. Jake finally reappeared 3 weeks later with an email and said that my goods will arrive between the 17-19. But he will confirm next week. Well a week passes and NO WORD so I figure I guess I better follow up as usual since this seems to be a common this with company. As I email to see what is going with my load - Well Jake is no gone on Holidays for a week and he is not responding. So I have to call the office to find out. As I call the office and get a huge run around there - the load is now not coming till the 20th. Plus the rudeness from the office like I was putting them out for asking. Then when I asked what are the steps to get my Goods as this was promised by Jake to help me and give correct direction they also did not have those and the only person that could give me correct instructions was the DRIVER who politely called me to help and assist. Next comes the unpacking to see how they packed... I do not call just throwing thing willy nilly into boxes packing... I could have done that!!!

The loading team loaded everything efficiently and used boxes wherever needed. The unloading team was very good as well with clear communication and polite behaviour. 5.0 We went with Trans Canada Movers to move from interior BC to southern Ontario. We reviewed a few cross-country movers, and they gave the best per pound rate and were the most responsive. Everyone we dealt with -- the sales agent, the packers, the unpackers -- were extremely professional and careful. We sent videos of what we were moving, and the sales agent provided a pretty accurate estimate for the quote. We had many boxes and items labelled as "Fragile", and the packers made sure to provide extra protection and wrapping. The estimated time frame for delivery was 2-4 weeks, and the actual time required was just over 2 weeks. The unpackers cross-checked all items from the local warehouse with their inventory list, and confirmed that everything was accounted for. All in all, nothing was lost, all of our items were in great condition; only a couple of tubs and suitcase had minor damage. We would absolutely recommend Trans Canada Movers for anyone doing a big move.

5.0 I used Trans Canada for my international move from Pennsylvania to Ontario and couldn't have had a better experience. After I entered my information for a quote, I was contacted by Jake D, who promptly answered all my billions of questions. Seriously, we have an email chain that's 52 messages long, and that's only ONE of the several email chains.

On moving day, the crew that showed up was friendly and professional and took my 65 boxes and other items down two sets of stairs and into the truck in under 2 hours. On the other side, my stuff was delivered quickly (a day earlier than expected) and in good shape. Both my TVs made it through alive and not a single plate or glass is broken. Trans Canada also set me up with the forms I needed when crossing the border myself, and took care of the customs clearance details. I highly recommend this moving company!

5.0 Me and my family just finished our move from Vancouver, BC, Canada to San Diego, California, USA. This is not our first move, as we have moved from Denmark to Vancouver, and back again – so we are pretty used to moving an entire household.
This time was different though, as we had to move between Canada and USA, and we visited a lot of websites, and I talked to a lot of moving companies and got quotes from several. When I visited the different websites, I primarily looked for ratings, and the pricing and ratings in combination, meant I chose Trans Canada Movers.

Since we made the decision to go with them, the communication was great, and we really felt being in good hands. We got messages, once our stuff was picked up, when it crossed the border – and we got a three-day window for arrival, 10 days before delivery. The delivery went smooth, and the crew coming with the truck full of our things were on time.

The moving business is a different one to get your head around, and chose the right company to assist you, and I did read bad stories from people, with a lot of bad experiences moving from USA to Canada or the other way. So, there was some concern moving this time.
